Lucifer had been ranting his endless laundry list of complaints for forty-five minutes now, and Louhi still didn’t know exactly what she was supposed to apologize for. There was something about her plant having eaten his cape while he had been waiting, as for the rest… She wished she could read an immortal’s thoughts, but their brains were constructs, simulations… Which actually explained a lot. About This Quote

A person who in a sense is a failure in the world, may also have a large potential for success. The person is very successful in a small aspect of their life, but when it comes to the big picture they may not have the skill to make it work. In the story, Lucifer complains for an hour about his failures and how he can’t do anything right. In this case, maybe he doesn’t have the ability to make something work.

However, even though he lacks success in a big way Lucifer still has a great deal of potential for success due to his ability to be persistent with a small amount of talent. It’s possible that he could become a legend in some short amount of time with work and dedication, but for now he is stuck complaining about his failures.
